Seeking ideas from the Deaf community and Deaf-relevant organisations
NZSL Board’s NZSL Online Hub project: The NZSL Board wants to understand if there is a need for a central NZSL website that provides easy access to NZSL information for all current and future NZSL users. This project is in the NZSL Board’s Action Plan (Action 3C). The Office for Disability Issues, on behalf of the NZSL Board, has contracted Merge NZ to meet with members of the Deaf community and Deaf-relevant organisations to get their views on whether there should be one central NZSL website.
Merge NZ will be contacting the Deaf community and a range of Deaf organisations to arrange meetings to discuss and obtain their views. The NZSL Board is really keen to hear the views of the Deaf community and Deaf organisations. You are encouraged to attend a local community in your area, or to participate in the online survey. The link to the survey is available below, closes August 2017.

Merge NZ are due to complete this work by the end of August. A report will be provided to the NZSL Board by September 2017. The outcome of this work will be publically released by the end of 2017.
