ODI is now advertising for a new Advisor (NZSL). This role is part of the NZSL Board Secretariat, working closely with the NZSL Board and Senior Advisor to maintain and promote NZSL.

The Advisor (NZSL) will work with the Senior Advisor (NZSL) to support the NZSL Board promoting cross Government implementation of the New Zealand Sign Language Strategy.  The New Zealand Disability Strategy, the Disability Action Plan and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) provides the context. The role involves working in close partnership with both the Disability sector and Government agencies and the provision of high quality information and advice on issues affecting disabled people.


There are two positions in the Office for Disability Issues supporting the NZSL Board and its work programme – a Senior Advisor role and an Advisor role.  The Advisor is the position being advertised.  The Advisor will work alongside the Senior Advisor in the Office for Disability Issues supporting the NZSL Board and its work programme.  Both positions report to the Director of the Office for Disability Issues.
