NZSL Board supports NZSLTA initiatives

The NZSL Board provided funding to support a range of projects to strengthen the New Zealand Sign Language Teachers Association.

The New Zealand Sign Language Teachers Association (NZSLTA) is the national professional organisation for New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) tutors.

The work programme which was funded by the NZSL Board focused on curriculum and resources, professional development and the NZSL teaching system and infrastructure. The work included:

  • Maintaining NZSLTA as a viable organisation
  • The restructure and refresh the TeachSign website
  • Developing the implementation plan for an upgrade of the Registration Advisory Panel System.

A second grant of $50,000 provided for a hui to bring the NZSLTA working group together.
